Threats by Obaseki as PDP sets up Campaign Council for Edo State Governorship Election
The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, issued a warning to members of the "Legacy Group," a faction within the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, cautioning them against causing division within the party.
Obaseki made this statement during the inauguration of a 363-member Governorship Campaign Council in Benin City. He expressed confidence in the PDP governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, predicting an 80 percent victory at the polls.
The governor accused the Legacy Group of collaborating with the opposition by accepting money to disrupt the party in the state, labeling them disorganized and lacking leadership. He emphasized that the PDP holds the reins, with others following suit.
