3 Suspected Motorcycle Snatchers and Others Arrested and Paraded by Zamfara NSCDC

Recently, the Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) carried out successful operations leading to the arrest and parade of criminal syndicates notorious for motorcycle snatching in Furfuri and Bungudu Local Government Areas of the State.

At a press briefing, Sani Mustapha, the NSCDC State Commandant, revealed that the Corps’ operatives apprehended a gang of criminals in the act of attempting to steal a Bajaj motorcycle from a commercial rider in the Gada Biyu Area of Gusau metropolis.

The three suspected motorcycle snatchers have been identified as Abdulkarim Usman (29 years old), Aminu Ibrahim (28 years old), and Nasiru Bala (20 years old).

During the incident, they collaborated with Sani Samaila, a motorcycle dealer at Yan Dole Motorcycle Market in Gusau Metropolis, in their attempt to snatch and harm the owner of a Bajaj motorcycle bearing plate number TMA 162 QH, who was legitmately operating as a commercial motorcycle rider.

According to the Commandant’s spokesperson, Ikor Oche, the suspects admitted their involvement in the crime, revealing that they used a hard stick called Gora to strike the victim with the intent to cause harm before stealing the motorcycle.

The swift intervention of NSCDC operatives in the State led to the apprehension of the suspects, with two stolen Bajaj motorcycles recovered as evidence.

Furthermore, the NSCDC Command also paraded another group of suspects responsible for disrupting public peace and setting fire to the Corps’ operational vehicle during the Eid prayers at the Central Eid ground in Gusau on April 10.

It was disclosed that this group planned the mayhem in retaliation for a prior altercation with another group named Yan Arle at a gold mining site in Niger Republic.

The Commandant emphasized that all the arrested suspects will face legal proceedings and be presented before the appropriate courts for prosecution following the completion of the investigation, aiming to deter similar criminal activities in the future.
