Rivaldo’s Warning: Arsenal’s Pursuit of Brazilian Star Could Be Thwarted by Man City

In the midst of ongoing transfer speculation, Arsenal may face obstacles in their bid to sign Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes this summer, according to Barcelona legend Rivaldo.

Rivaldo pointed out Manchester City’s strong interest in the talented Brazilian midfielder, potentially complicating Arsenal’s efforts.

Amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of midfield mainstays Thomas Partey and Jorginho, and the pressing need to strengthen the squad, Arsenal have reignited their interest in Guimaraes, who impressed during a standout season with Newcastle.

Despite this, Rivaldo suggested that the 24-year-old could be tempted by Manchester City’s offer, enticed by the prospect of working under manager Pep Guardiola and the camaraderie within the City squad.

“Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with moves to both Arsenal and Manchester City. He is a fantastic player who has shone this season,” Rivaldo commented in an interview with Betfair.

“It’s evident that nowadays, everyone desires to play for Manchester City due to Pep Guardiola’s presence and the strong team cohesion they have.

“I believe that if Guimaraes departs Newcastle, he will likely opt for a switch to Manchester City.”
