The Nigerian government has sanctioned a decrease in the electricity tariff for customers in ‘Band A’

A notice from Ikeja Electric (IKEDC) confirmed the reduction of the electricity tariff for Band A customers, as communicated on Monday. As per the approved revision, customers under Band A will now be charged N206.80 per kilowatt-hour. “Kindly take note of the decrease in tariff for our Band A feeders, now revised from N225/kWh to N206.80/kWh starting from 6th May 2024, while ensuring consistent supply of 20-24 hours daily,” the notice stated. There is no change in the tariffs for customers in Bands B, C, D, and E as per the notice.
