Response to Mourinho’s claims: Erik ten Hag defends Man Utd’s support

Reacting to Jose Mourinho’s assertions that he did not receive the same level of backing during his time at Manchester United as Erik ten Hag currently enjoys, the Dutch manager has countered the remarks.

Mourinho had criticized Ten Hag’s access to better support in the transfer market compared to his stint at Old Trafford.

Disagreeing with Mourinho’s claims, Ten Hag pointed out that Mourinho was the sole manager post-Sir Alex Ferguson who was able to secure the players he desired.

In an interview with ESPN Brasil, Ten Hag stated, “Apart from Mourinho, the other managers didn’t have the luxury of acquiring their desired players, a crucial element for success.”

Expressing confidence in achieving their objectives, Ten Hag emphasized the competitiveness in the league, stating, “The competition is fierce, with seven to eight Premier League teams vying for the title, boasting strong squads. To contend for the title, building a solid squad is imperative.”
