In a recent revelation, Sporting Lagos’s head coach, Abdullahi Biffo, shared insights into his special connection with midfielder Chinedu Ufere.
Biffo and Ufere had previously collaborated during the 2018-19 league season at Kwara United.
Reflecting on their history, Biffo disclosed how close he was to losing the dynamic midfielder to other clubs due to his standout performances during trials.
“On our first encounter, Chinedu Ufere immediately caught my eye as a promising footballer. We agreed that he would play a five-minute stint in a friendly tournament in Asaba,” revealed Biffo to the Sporting Lagos website.
“However, to everyone’s surprise, he not only fulfilled the five minutes but played the entire 90-minute game, clinching the Man of the Match award as well.
“Despite the interest from numerous clubs following his standout performance, he ultimately chose to sign with me at Kwara United.”
