Nigerian Army Troops Foil Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Two and Seize Arms in Benue

In a recent development, the Nigerian Army has reported that its troops, in collaboration with Volunteer Guards, successfully thwarted a kidnapping incident and rescued two individuals in Benue State as part of their ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the North Central region.

Responding to a distress call from the suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Tsede Village, located along Road Tor Donga Takum in Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, the troops swiftly mobilized to the scene. Upon arrival, they engaged the kidnappers in a fierce shootout, forcing the criminals to retreat and abandon their hostages.

The rescued victims, Chief Sano Kursi and Augustine Sada, were found unharmed and have been safely reunited with their families.

Aside from the successful rescue mission, the troops also seized a significant cache of weapons, including one FN rifle, one FN rifle magazine, 17 AK-47 rifle magazines, 10 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, 58 rounds of 7.62 mm (NATO) ammunition, and 3 ATM cards.

This operation not only underscores the Nigerian Army’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property in the region but also highlights the crucial role of collaboration between security forces and local communities in combating criminal activities.
