The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Abaniwonda Olufemi, has announced the arrest of a 24-year-old woman, Sofia Nkwor, for allegedly dumping her one-year-and-one-month-old baby in a well located along the road in Araya Community, Isoko South Local Government Area. This disclosure was made by CP Olufemi during a press briefing held today. Police officials revealed that the abandoned child was found floating in the well by other children playing near the area. In his statement, CP Olufemi mentioned, “The mother, Sofia Nkwor, a 24-year-old female, admitted to the act, stating that she disposed of the child on April 26, 2024.” The suspect is currently in police custody, with investigations still ongoing.
