Investigation Launched by FCT Police Following Fatal Stabbing of Veritas University Student

The Federal Capital Territory’s Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, has instructed an immediate inquiry into the passing of a student from Veritas University in Abuja.

The student, identified as Joshua Èjuojo Daniel-Ejigbo, a first-year computer science student, was reported to have tragically lost his life during a workout at the campus gym.

However, upon further examination, it was revealed that he had sustained five stab wounds on his back and ribs, information that had been concealed from his family.

Reportedly, the university informed the deceased student’s father about the incident, stating that his son collapsed and passed away.

Representing the family, human rights attorney Deji Adeyanju indicated that the deceased student’s parents suspected foul play and negligence.

The family alleged discovering five stab wounds on the student’s back and ribs.

In a statement issued by FCT Command’s Spokesman, SP Josephine Adeh stated, “The CP has directed the Deputy Commissioner overseeing the CID to carry out a discreet investigation into the matter.”
