COVID-19: UBTH confirms 3 cases, 1 death, as 25 doctors go into isolation

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) in Edo state has confirmed three cases of COVID-19 with one resulting in death. The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Darlington Obaseki, revealed this information in a statement released on April 5. The deceased COVID-19 patient was confirmed to have passed away on Friday April 3 by the NCDC. In response to the treatment process, around 25 doctors who had contact with the patients are currently in isolation. Prof. Obaseki noted that these doctors had only been using personal protection equipment, such as surgical face-masks and gloves, while attending to the patients with the infectious disease.
