Ruud van Nistelrooy praises Real Madrid star as exceptional player

Discussing midfielder Jude Bellingham’s role in Carlo Ancelotti’s system, former Real Madrid and Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy acknowledged the challenges faced by the player. Despite this, the Dutch international commended Bellingham for exceeding expectations set by fans and the club.

Van Nistelrooy, who spent four successful seasons at Real Madrid, highlighted his own achievements at the club, including scoring 64 goals and providing 16 assists in 96 total appearances across various competitions.

Notably, during his time at Santiago Bernabeu, the former striker secured the La Liga Golden Boot in his debut season by netting 25 goals in 37 matches.

Reflecting on Bellingham’s impressive goal-scoring abilities and overall performance, Van Nistelrooy expressed admiration for the England international’s adaptation and impact in his first season.

In his own words (via AS): “Jude’s prolific goal-scoring is an added benefit. He excels in multiple aspects of the game, from his strategic positioning to his defensive contributions, showcasing exceptional versatility and quick decision-making abilities. While we should not solely pressure him to score, he naturally excels in that aspect.”

He further remarked: “Bellingham’s outstanding season merits proper recognition. Regardless of Ancelotti’s tactical adjustments, he consistently delivers exceptional performances, underscoring his status as an exceptional talent.”
