Boko Haram leader, Ibrahim Shekau begs his fighters not to run after many of them were killed in attack led by Chad's President (listen to audio)

Boko Haram’s leader, Ibrahim Shekau, was captured on an audio tape urging his fighters not to retreat following the deaths of many of them in an attack spearheaded by Chad’s President, Iddris Deby.

Deby led an offensive against Boko Haram in retaliation for an ambush that resulted in the deaths of over 90 Chadian soldiers. This prompted him to vow to crush Boko Haram in the Lake Chad region, describing the attack as the worst-ever on the country’s military. With the assistance of the Israeli Army, the Chadian army successfully launched an offensive in the Lake Chad region, resulting in the death of numerous Boko Haram terrorists and the discovery and destruction of bunkers housing key commanders.

Shekau, in a recently obtained audio by Sahara Reporters, expressed sorrow and dissatisfaction with the attack led by the Chadian army, stating that it was not sanctioned by the Qur’an. He further urged the people of Chad to leave them alone. Shekau’s message to his fighters in the audio was one of encouragement and reassurance, asserting his leadership over them.
