Five more COVID-19 patients including a 10-year-old girl discharged in Lagos

The announcement was made by Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, about the discharge of five additional Coronavirus patients from the Infectious Disease Hospital in Lagos. The governor shared the news on his IG page, confirming that among the discharged patients is a 10-year-old girl.

In his statement, the governor expressed his happiness at the recovery and discharge of the patients, emphasizing that a total of 29 patients have been fully recovered and released from the facility at Yaba. However, he also conveyed his sadness at the loss of a 36-year-old man to Coronavirus in a private facility in the state on Saturday April 4th.

Governor Sanwo-Olu appealed to the people of Lagos to avoid stigmatizing the discharged patients and reiterated that they pose no threat to the community. He extended his gratitude to the frontline health workers, the Lagos State Health family, and the Emergency Operation Centre for their efforts in managing the patients and containing the spread of the disease.

Furthermore, the governor urged the residents of the state to adhere to social distancing and all precautionary measures to support the ongoing battle against the viral disease. He stressed the importance of following the instructions on prevention and transmission, discouraging activities that could undermine the efforts to combat the spread of the virus.
