Veteran Yoruba actress Anike Alajogun diagnosed with COVID-19 in the UK

Veteran Yoruba actress and producer, Alhaja Anike Alajogun, residing in London and working as a nurse, has received a positive diagnosis for COVID-19.   Alhaja Anike Alajogun, also known as Yeye Oba, left acting in Nigeria to pursue a nursing career with the NHS in Manchester, UK.   The UK and Nigeria socialite, who is the owner of the renowned Mataan Hotel in Ibadan, Oyo state, contracted the virus while providing care to patients in the UK.   After experiencing unwell symptoms, she underwent a Coronavirus test which returned a positive result.   She has been fighting COVID-19 for the past week and has been placed under mandatory two weeks self-isolation by 111.

Chad’s President Iddris Deby Threatened by Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau

Lagos State government says from next academic session, your child must be 12 years old before they can enrol in any secondary school

The Lagos State government has announced that for the upcoming academic session, all children must be at least 12 years old to enroll in secondary school, whether public or private. According to a circular released by Mrs A. A. Adebowale of the Ministry of Education in March, the state government has proposed a fine of N50,000 for first-time offenders and N100,000 for repeat offenders, along with warning letters and possible closure of schools for violations. The government stated that this new policy will be rigorously enforced by education agencies in the state.
