Lagos State government says from next academic session, your child must be 12 years old before they can enrol in any secondary school

The Lagos State government has announced that for the upcoming academic session, all children must be at least 12 years old to enroll in secondary school, whether public or private.

According to a circular released by Mrs A. A. Adebowale of the Ministry of Education in March, the state government has proposed a fine of N50,000 for first-time offenders and N100,000 for repeat offenders, along with warning letters and possible closure of schools for violations. The government stated that this new policy will be rigorously enforced by education agencies in the state.
