EFCC clarifies: No list of 58 ex-governors under investigation for N2.187trn embezzlement
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has distanced itself from allegations suggesting that a list of former governors is currently under investigation for corrupt practices.
In a statement, the Head of Media and Publicity of the anti-graft agency, Dele Oyewale, refuted the validity of a report titled "EFCC Releases Full List of 58 Ex-Governors that Embezzled N2.187 Trillion," terming it as false and intended to mislead the public.
Oyewale emphasized that the EFCC has not released any such list and has not engaged in discussions with any media outlet regarding investigations into ex-governors for alleged corruption.
