Ugochinyere Expresses Disapproval towards PDP Governors and Leaders Allowing Wike in Caucus Meeting

In a meeting behind closed doors, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere, criticized the National Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and governors elected under the party for permitting a current All Progressives Congress, APC, government official to participate.

Ugochinyere criticized PDP for its perceived weakness and questioned how it could strive to gain power in 2027 when it welcomed an individual promoting the APC to disrupt their session.

In a post on his X handle on Thursday, the lawmaker expressed his disapproval.

He remarked, “Are we really experiencing this?
PDP governors and members of the National Caucus watched passively as a current APC government official made his way into their private caucus gathering in Abuja a few hours ago.

“How feeble can a party that aspires to seize power in 2027 be, to let a person supporting APC disrupt their meeting?”

This statement came following reports that the former governor of Rivers State was allowed to join the party’s caucus gathering before the National Executive Council, NEC, meeting scheduled for today.

Wike is presently serving as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The ex-governor of Rivers State led a group of five rebellious governors who opposed the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the previous presidential election.
