Benue Workers Recognized on May Day 2024 by Governor Alia with Promises of Enhanced Welfare

Extending his gratitude to the workers of Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia has celebrated their significant role in advancing the state’s progress on this year’s May Day.

In line with the theme for the 2024 Labour Day, which focuses on “Ensuring Safety and Health at Work in a Changing Climate,” the governor highlighted his administration’s commitment to placing the welfare of workers at the forefront.

As per a statement released by Sir Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Alia emphasized the renovation of the State Secretariat and the provision of a dedicated 33KVA transformer to foster a healthy and conducive work atmosphere.

Assuring workers of timely salary disbursements, resolution of pending arrears, consideration for promotions and allowances, as well as access to training and retraining opportunities, the governor reiterated his administration’s dedication to addressing workers’ needs.

Alia affirmed that the concerns of workers will always remain a top priority for his government.

Encouraging workers to uphold transparency, compassion, accountability, and sincerity in their roles, Governor Alia conveyed his well wishes for a joyous celebration and appealed to them to lend their support through effective performance in their designated responsibilities while maintaining a non-partisan stance.
