The Nigerian government has located the whereabouts of the fleeing Binance executive and Anjarwalla in Kenya

Following his escape from custody in Nigeria, the Federal Government has tracked down Nadeem Anjarwalla, a fleeing Binance executive, to Kenya.

Efforts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have Anjarwalla extradited involve discussions with the International Criminal Police, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenyan Police Service.

Sources disclosed to Punch that Anjarwalla, who has now been revealed, immediately went into hiding upon his arrival in Kenya.

According to the sources, “We have identified his location in Kenya and we are collaborating with the authorities to repatriate him to Nigeria.”

Another source, familiar with the situation, supported the initial source’s statement.

The source stated, “All agencies are actively involved. The government, in collaboration with security forces, is working closely with Kenyan authorities and INTERPOL to facilitate his return to Nigeria to face the charges leveled against him.”

Meanwhile, the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, confirmed in the latest edition of the agency’s bulletin, “EFCC Alert,” that efforts were ongoing to extradite Anjarwalla with international cooperation.

Olukoyede emphasized, “The commission’s assumption of the prosecution of Binance executives underscores EFCC’s commitment to combating distortions and disruptions in the country’s forex market.”

“The charges against Binance Holdings Limited, Tigran Gambaryan, and Nadeem Anjarwalla include tax evasion, currency speculation, and money laundering amounting to $35.4m,” Olukoyede added.

“While Gambaryan is currently in the commission’s custody, the process of extraditing Anjarwalla is proceeding swiftly.”

The collaboration for Anjarwalla’s arrest includes the International Criminal Police Organisation, United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the governments of the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, and Kenya, aiming to ensure his arraignment despite his absence.
