Former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has cautioned his former club against making a move for Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen has been one of the names thrown around in connection with a potential summer switch to Chelsea.
With a release clause in the region of €120m-€130m in his recent contract extension, the 25-year-old Nigerian striker remains a highly sought-after prospect.
Petit suggested that rather than splashing out on new signings, Chelsea should concentrate on developing and maximizing the potential of their existing squad.
Expressing his opinion, Petit stated, “I am of the view that Chelsea does not require Gyokeres or Osimhen.
“Within Chelsea’s ranks, numerous players are not performing at their peak and have the capacity to achieve more,” Petit remarked during an interview with Genting Casino.
In addition to Chelsea, Osimhen has reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal and French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
