Edo Police Detain Four Individuals on Burglary Charges

Recently in Benin City, the Edo State Police Command took into custody four suspects for purportedly breaking into a resident’s dwelling and snatching items valued at N15 million.

According to a statement released by the Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, the arrests were made by officers from the Ekiadolor Divisional Headquarters.

The suspects have been identified as Sunday Ehiosu, Patrick Okon (26), Godswill Omorege (23), and Malik Shola (26).

A complaint was lodged with the Ekiadolor Divisional Police Officer by an individual (name withheld), who upon returning from a trip, discovered that his residence had been burglarized, and possessions worth N15 million had been stolen.

Further investigation led to the apprehension of Sunday Ehiosu while in the process of attempting to sell the stolen items taken from the complainant’s home.

Upon preliminary inquiries, the case was forwarded to the Command Crack Team, resulting in the arrest of Patrick Okon, Godswill Omorege, and Malik Shola, all of whom were implicated in the burglary.

In a statement, Adegboye confirmed that the suspects had admitted to their involvement in the crime and will soon face legal charges.
