Tragedy Strikes Plateau Communities: Police Report 13 Dead and 3 Injured

Confirming the devastating events in Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas of Plateau State, the Plateau State Police Command announced that 13 individuals lost their lives and three sustained injuries.

In a statement delivered by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, in Jos, the state capital, the grim reality of the situation was laid out.

Expressing the sorrow felt by the Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, during his visit to Bokkos Local Government Area, Alabo shared, “The Commissioner extended his condolences to the bereaved families and the entire citizens of Plateau State.”

Providing further details, Alabo mentioned, “In the recent assault in Mangu local government, 11 casualties were recorded, whereas in Bokkos local government, two lives were lost and three individuals were left wounded.”

Assuring the people of Plateau of the law enforcement’s decisive actions, Alabo continued, “The Commissioner has mobilized resources to address this threat promptly. He has personally visited the affected areas to assess the situation.”

Alabo added, “Having been briefed on the existing security measures and the necessary actions to be taken, the Commissioner is steadfast in his commitment to restoring peace and stability to Plateau.”

Collaborating with other security forces, the Police are intensifying efforts to restore peace and security in the region, ensuring that such incidents are prevented in the future.
