Registration of Land Vendors in Yobe State Ordered by Governor Buni

Yobe State Geographic Information Service, YOGIS, has been directed by Governor Mai Mala Buni to register all land vendors currently operating within the state.

During the official launch of the new digital process for land administration and management, Governor Buni issued this directive on Thursday.

The purpose of this action is to combat the issues of land-grabbing, racketeering, and scams prevalent in the state.

“To address the problems associated with land-grabbing, racketeering, and scams, I hereby instruct that all land vendors must undergo registration to ensure proper documentation and security measures before they can operate,” he mandated.

Additionally, Governor Buni directed filling stations, hotels, bakeries, water factories, private schools, corner shops, and other commercial enterprises in the state to clear their outstanding payments.

Expressing optimism about the new process, he remarked, “I believe that YOGIS will be able to offer seamless, effective, and efficient services to its clients.”

Established through Executive Order 1 in November 2020, YOGIS was officially endorsed by Governor Buni in October 2021 to facilitate improved land administration and management across the state.
