Only President Buhari can decide if COVID-19 lockdown will be extended- Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha says

The decision to extend the COVID-19 lockdown rests solely with President Buhari, according to Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Mustapha emphasized this during a visit to Lagos where he was evaluating the state's efforts in combating the virus. "It is only Buhari who can say that the lockdown will be extended or not. He did say during his address that Lagos, Ogun and FCT would be shutdown for 14 days in the first instance," Mustapha stated. He also mentioned that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 would provide a report to President Buhari by the end of the week, outlining whether the objectives of the lockdown had been achieved, and it would be up to the President to decide on any extension.
