Edo Speaker Offers Apology for Chaotic Session Following Suspension of Members
Following a tumultuous plenary session where three lawmakers were suspended, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, issued a sincere apology to the House staff for the commotion that ensued.
The Speaker's decision to suspend the lawmakers was based on allegations that they were involved in a plot to impeach him and other principal officers.
Agbebaku, who imposed an indefinite suspension on the lawmakers, also accused them of being influenced by external entities to disrupt proceedings and overthrow the House leadership. He further claimed that the suspended members engaged in occult practices and incantations within the House premises.
