Head coach Abdullahi Maikaba has been suspended by Nigeria Premier Football League team Kano Pillars, as confirmed by the club’s management on Tuesday.
The veteran coach’s suspension comes after he openly criticized the club’s management for their perceived lack of professionalism.
Maikaba, who previously coached Akwa United, only joined Kano Pillars at the beginning of the current NPFL season in 2023.
The team has been facing challenges in recent NPFL matches, currently sitting in 9th place on the table with 44 points, despite being former champions of the league.
