New PPRO Timfon starts her duties in Akwa Ibom


Assuming office on Tuesday, ASP John Timfon is the latest Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Akwa Ibom State, marking the 24th PPRO to serve in the command.

DSP Lawrence Anine from the PRO department announced the transition, confirming Timfon’s succession of Odiko Macdon, who has been elevated to Chief Superintendent of Police.

Prior to her current role as Akwa Ibom State PPRO, Timfon, a native of the state, held the position of Head of Programmes at Nigeria Police Radio, 99.1FM in Abuja.

She is a graduate with an LL.B (Hons) Degree in Law from the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, and a member of the Regular Course 2.

The statement emphasized, “The Akwa Ibom State Police Command informs the public that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeoye Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, has sanctioned the assignment of a new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command. She is ASP John Timfon.”

“The new PPRO succeeds CSP Odiko Macdon (ANIPR), who was recently promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP),” the statement added.

Expressing gratitude to the previous PPRO, CSP Odiko Macdon, for his professionalism, the Command appealed to the people of Akwa Ibom to extend their cooperation to ASP Timfon John as she embarks on her new responsibilities.
