Insight from Arsene Wenger on Arsenal’s Edge Over Manchester City in EPL Title Race

Discussing the Premier League title race, former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger highlighted a key advantage that the Gunners currently hold over Manchester City.

Arsenal is presently in second place on the Premier League standings, trailing league leaders Manchester City by just two points.

Under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, the team holds the edge over Liverpool in third place due to superior goal difference.

As the 2023/24 Premier League season approaches its conclusion with six games left, Wenger pointed out that Arsenal’s goal difference could prove pivotal for Arteta’s side.

Wenger illustrated that if Pep Guardiola’s City side were to draw their upcoming match while Arsenal secures a win, the North London outfit would overtake them at the top of the table.

“The recent loss to Aston Villa was truly unexpected,” Wenger remarked during an interview with beIN SPORTS.

“When you are contending for the title, playing at home with just a few games remaining, seizing the opportunity is crucial.

“The weekend’s surprise was City reclaiming the lead unexpectedly. It was unforeseen that both contenders could falter in a match, yet Arsenal’s favorable goal difference gives them the upper hand.

“In the scenario where City draws a game and we emerge victorious, we will surge ahead of them,” he added reassuringly.
