Comptroller Federal Operations Unit Zone C welcomes Michael Ugbagu

Assuming the role of the 28th Comptroller of the Federal Operations Unit zone C (FOUC) of the Nigeria Customs Service in Owerri is Comptroller Michael Ugbagu.

A simple ceremony in Owerri saw Comptroller Ugbagu taking over from his predecessor, Comptroller Kolade on Friday.

On Friday, a statement by Jerry Attah, the Public Relations Officer of Customs FOUC in Owerri, Imo State, confirmed this transition.

Using intelligence and technology, the statement emphasized the commitment to enforcing compliance with current import and export guidelines.

Efforts will be made to ensure tight security to curb smuggling activities in the zone. The aim is to deter smugglers, cause frustration, and make smuggling, duty evasion, and warehousing of smuggled goods undesirable within the zone.

Emphasizing his dedication, Comptroller Ugbagu stated, “This is a significant responsibility, and I am committed to upholding it and not failing the service.”

He solicited support and cooperation from both the media and the general public to facilitate the successful execution of his new role.

Expressing his gratitude, Comptroller Ugbagu thanked the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, and the entire management team for the trust and confidence in his ability to lead the unit.

He also appreciated the achievements of Comptroller Kolade during his tenure, pledging to adhere to established guidelines while carrying out his duties.
