Reasons behind my decision to stop watching Chelsea matches – Mourinho

Living just “two minutes” away from Stamford Bridge, former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has elaborated on why he no longer attends matches at the stadium.

Mourinho achieved significant success during his two stints with the club, including back-to-back Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and two League Cups in his first tenure. He returned in 2013 to win a third Premier League title and another League Cup before departing in 2015.

Rumors have surfaced linking Mourinho to a potential third spell at Chelsea due to the mounting pressure on current manager Mauricio Pochettino.

However, in an interview with A Bola, Mourinho shared, “In London, my house is just two minutes away from Chelsea’s stadium. You can hear the goals and the crowd from my house.”

He went on to explain, “The day the fans at the stadium began singing my name, I decided to stop attending matches at Stamford Bridge. I started going to other stadiums instead.”

“It only takes 20-30 minutes from my other house to reach Luz, Benfica’s stadium. I managed to attend a few matches there,” Mourinho added.

“However, when the questions about me potentially becoming their manager started arising, I decided to refrain from attending further games. These questions complicated my life,” he concluded.
