Three Individuals Apprehended for Alleged Robbery and Rape of Housewife in Jigawa State


Authorities in Jigawa State have taken into custody three suspects in connection with an incident involving the theft of three bags of pepper and the rape of a woman in Ringim Local Government Area.

A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, DSP. Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest of the perpetrators.

According to the statement, the crime took place on Sunday around 0200hrs in Chori Village, Ringim LGA. The perpetrators, armed with cutlasses, forcibly entered a residence and robbed the husband of five bags of pepper. Subsequently, one of them sexually assaulted the man’s wife.

Upon receiving the report, detectives from Ringim Division promptly took action, resulting in the apprehension of Abubakar Isah (25 years old), Umar Ibrahim (25 years old), and Umar Nasara (30 years old), all residents of Chori village, Ringim LGA.

Following interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and were swiftly transferred to SCID Dutse for a thorough investigation, as disclosed by DSP. Shiisu.

After the investigation is concluded, the suspects will be brought before the court for prosecution.
