The United States vows to continue its support for Israel’s defense

In an announcement made on Monday, the United States emphasized its commitment to backing Israel in order to prevent any escalation of tensions with Iran.

During a meeting with Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mohammed Ali Tamim, the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, assured that Israel would not stand alone in defending itself against Iran’s aggression.

Blinken labeled Iran’s recent actions as unprecedented and stated, “We are not looking for a confrontation, but we will persist in aiding Israel’s defense efforts and safeguarding our personnel in the region.”

He further added, “The events over the past weekend highlight the fact that Israel is not isolated in its defense against aggression or attacks.”

Iran had launched a massive attack over the weekend with more than 300 drones and missiles targeting Israel, in response to an April 1 strike on Iran’s consulate in Syria that resulted in the deaths of some of its top generals.

Fortunately, a significant portion of the missiles and drones were intercepted with the assistance of the United States, France, and other allied nations.
