Speculation: Leicester City’s Iheanacho Tipped for Summer Departure

According to Dean Jones, a trusted source for transfer news, it is anticipated that Kelechi Iheanacho will depart Leicester City during the upcoming summer transfer window.

As it stands, Iheanacho’s current contract with Leicester City is set to end this June, with no discussions underway for a potential extension.

The forward has faced irregular playing time for the Foxes throughout this season.

In his 25 league appearances for Enzo Maresca’s team, the 27-year-old managed to score six goals.

Jones envisions the Nigerian striker leaving Leicester City on a free transfer once the current season concludes.
“It appears that a departure from Leicester is imminent for him, with a move to Turkey, particularly to Trabzonspor, being a likely scenario,” Jones shared with GIVEMESPORT.

“The possibility of these options becoming reality is increasing, despite it being early in his football journey,” he added.

“Considering Leicester’s perspective, holding onto him might not be prudent, given his substantial wages in the squad and his limited starting opportunities in a crucial season where they are striving for promotion to the top tier.”

Iheanacho made the switch to Leicester City from Manchester City back in 2017.
