CP Aderemi Adeoye, the retiring Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, bid farewell to the Nigeria Police Force with a ceremonial pullout parade over the weekend in Awka, at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square.
Addressing the attendees, Adeoye shared that his years of service saw him undergo various trainings within Nigeria and abroad, including financial education, which led him to establish an investment club called Alpha Trust Investment Club (ATIC) back in 2018.
He mentioned that ATIC currently holds investments exceeding N20 billion and that upon retirement, he intends to embark on business ventures full-time.
Adeoye confidently stated his ambition to challenge the wealth of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, in the business arena.
Reflecting on his career, he recounted facing adversities such as militancy in the Niger Delta, insurgency in the North East by Boko Haram, and combating IPOB militancy in the South East. Despite encountering gunfire and bombs, he expressed gratitude for remaining unscathed.
Expressing his gratitude, he acknowledged the NPF for the opportunities provided to serve and the investments made in his training both locally and internationally. His extensive training across countries like Ghana, England, Israel, and California, as well as his service with the United Nations, have uniquely prepared him for retirement.
Emphasizing the collaborative efforts, Adeoye credited the success achieved during his tenure to the collective work with various sister agencies rather than individual endeavors.
“In 2028, I founded an investment club, Alpha Trust Investment Club (ATIC) Limited, with humble beginnings of N54 million. Today, our investments surpass N20 billion. Beginning on Wednesday, May 1, this will be my primary business focus. Through our investments, we aim to challenge Dangote’s financial prowess within the next decade,” Adeoye announced.
The Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim, commended Adeoye’s contributions towards enhancing security within the state.
Ibezim noted, “There’s a season for every commencement and conclusion. We anticipated this day would arrive. Adeoye arrived in Anambra during Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts to tackle insecurity, and his tenure significantly contributed to calming the region.”
He continued, “While we wish he could continue, honoring his impactful work, we understand his decision. Anambra’s citizens have recognized his efforts, renaming a street in his honor and bestowing multiple awards. We celebrate his citizenship in Anambra and wish him success in his future endeavors.”
