Flamingos Head to Bamako for Burkina Faso Clash in U-17 WWCQ

Departing from Abuja, Nigeria, the Flamingos are on their way to Bamako, Mali for their upcoming 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying match against Burkina Faso.

The team, along with their officials, embarked on a journey from Abuja via an Air Cote d’Ivoire flight on Thursday.

The first leg of the third round clash is scheduled to take place at Stade 26 March in Bamako this Saturday.

Following this match, the return leg will be held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja a week later.

With the exception of the Uruguay 2018 edition, Nigeria’s Flamingos have consistently participated in the FIFA U-17 World Cup since its inception in New Zealand in 2008.

Anticipating a strong performance in the Malian capital, the Nigerian girls aim for a convincing victory to ease the return leg in Abuja.

The upcoming competition will be hosted by the Dominican Republic later this year.
