Recent NAF operations in Borno eliminate terrorist leaders and fighters

Reports confirm that the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has successfully targeted and neutralized prominent terrorist figures including Ali Dawud, Bakurah Fallujah, Mallam Ari, along with 30 other militants in Borno State.

A statement released by Edward Gabkwet, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, disclosed that the airstrikes, carried out by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK, specifically aimed at the hideouts of ISWAP insurgents situated in Kolleram village near Lake Chad.

Following a thorough Battle Damage Assessment conducted post-strike, it was established that more than 30 terrorists were eliminated.

“The operation resulted in the neutralization of significant figures such as Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari,” Gabkwet confirmed.

Additionally, the airstrikes caused destruction to multiple terrorist assets, including vehicles, motorcycles, and logistical support items, effectively crippling their operational capacity.

“Intelligence reports post-strike indicated that a vital facility within the Kolleram stronghold, utilized by the terrorists for food processing activities, was obliterated, including grinding machines,” he elaborated.

By eliminating key terrorist leaders and disrupting their supply chain, the mission has substantially weakened the operational abilities of the ISWAP group in the area,” he continued.

Emphasizing the significance of the successful airstrikes, he reiterated NAF’s unwavering dedication to eradicating terrorism and safeguarding Nigerian citizens, emphasizing the importance of aerial operations in conjunction with ground efforts in the Lake Chad vicinity to combat terrorism effectively.
