The Bail Decision for Adeleke’s Associate, Oyeyemi, Awaited Amidst Tight Security

At the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State, a significant security presence was evident as the fate of Olalekan Oyeyemi, a close associate of Governor Ademola Adeleke, hangs in the balance due to charges of murder and terrorism.

Amidst a heavy security detail both within the court premises and its surroundings, the accused individual was also present in court.

Oyeyemi was brought before the court facing a 10-count charge, including alleged killings within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and involvement in terrorism as per the allegations by the Inspector General of Police.

Having pleaded not guilty, the defendant was confined to the Ife correctional facility pending the legal proceedings.

In light of a formal bail application filed by Oyeyemi’s counsel, Edmund Biriomoni, citing seven grounds, the opposition from the prosecution’s counsel, Francis Osie, was rooted in Sections 162 and 165 of the Administration of Criminal Justice 2015.

The ruling on the bail application was adjourned to the present day by Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, the presiding judge.

As of the time of this report, the commencement of the bail ruling was pending.
