Super Eagles’ Oghenekaro Etebo Joins Getafe on Loan

Nigerian Super Eagles' star, Oghenekaro Etebo, has completed a move from English club Stoke City to Getafe in Spain. The 24-year-old midfielder has joined Getafe on a loan deal until the end of the current season, with the Madrid-based club having an option to sign him permanently. Nigerian man accused of killing his father over cooked yam in Ebonyi

A man identified as Chibueze Iduma has been arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command for allegedly killing his father during a quarrel over cooked yam. The deceased, Mr Emmanuel Oba Iduma, was allegedly killed by his son who was infuriated upon returning home and discovering that his dad had eaten a yam he cooked for himself. An eyewitness shared, “While they quarreled over the cooked yam, the father had hit the son with his walking stick, and in retaliation, the son hit him back, causing him to fall down and die.” Chibueze was arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Abakiliki over the incident which occurred in Amaofia Ngbo community, in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, on December 20, 2019, and was charged with murder. Abia local government chairman slumps and dies during meeting

The Transition Committee Chairman of Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia state, Onyekachi Okoro, tragically passed away after collapsing during a meeting in Umuahia on January 9th. He was swiftly taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Umuahia where he was pronounced dead. The cause of his sudden demise is believed to be a cardiac arrest, although the doctors have not yet officially confirmed this. Okoro's untimely death occurred just a month after he had assumed the role of TC chairman of Arochukwu Local Government, following his appointment in December 2019.
