The use of the Presidential Private Jet by one of the daughters of President Buhari, Hanan Buhari, has elicited reactions from Garba Shehu, the President's spokesperson. Shehu defended the use of the jet by stating that it is entitled to the President's wife and children. He also clarified that Hanan Buhari's trip to Bauchi on January 9 was authorized by the Presidency for the Durbar event. Shehu emphasized that the trip followed the normal procedure and was duly authorized, with relevant authorities informed. He further explained that the Presidential Air fleet is available to the President, the first family, and four other authorized individuals, including the Vice President, the Senate President, the Speaker, and any other person(s) authorized by the President.

Over 400 shops at the Old Motor Spare Parts Market, popularly known as Mgbuka Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, were ravaged by a fire in the early hours of Saturday, January 11.
