Tragic Incident on Kaduna-Abuja Expressway Leaves One Deceased, 3 Injured, and N8.7m Found

On Wednesday night, a fatal car crash took place along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, resulting in one fatality and leaving three others injured, according to the Kaduna Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC.

Speaking to NAN in Kaduna on Thursday, Sector Commander Kabir Nadabo disclosed that an amount of N8.7 million was recovered from the scene of the accident.

The incident occurred at Olam along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway around 23:01 hrs on Wednesday night. A Golf salon car with registration number SBG 87 XB, traveling from Minna in Niger, collided with an unnumbered trailer heading towards Kaduna.

Investigations indicated that the crash was caused by overspeeding, driver fatigue, and loss of control. A rescue team from RS1.16 Kakau carried out the rescue operation.

Further examination revealed that six individuals were involved in the crash, three of whom sustained various degrees of injuries, while the driver tragically lost his life.

The injured individuals were transported to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna for additional medical care.

Nadabo mentioned that the recovered N8.7 million is currently in possession of the Command awaiting identification of the owner.
