Kogi Governor Usman Udodo Pays Visit to Yahaya Bello Amid EFCC Siege [VIDEO]

During a recent event, Kogi State Governor Usman Udodo made a visit to his predecessor Yahaya Bello at his residence in Abuja.

Yahaya Bello’s residence, situated in the Wuse Zone 4 area of Abuja, was the focal point of a visit by Ododo amidst a notable siege staged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC had launched an operation at Bello’s home with the intention of apprehending him as part of an ongoing investigative process.

Despite being implicated in an ongoing corruption probe by the anti-graft agency, Bello is yet to face any formal charges.

In response to allegations of fund misappropriation that implicated Bello’s nephew, Ali Bello, and his associate Dauda Suleiman in diverting state funds, a new development emerged.

The latest revelation in the case implicated the two defendants, along with Bello, in a scheme to unlawfully convert a significant sum of N80.2 billion from the Kogi State Government for personal gain.

In defense, the former governor highlighted the non-compliance of the EFCC with an existing court order issued on February 9, 2024, by the Kogi State High Court of Justice, Lokoja Division, in a lawsuit (Suit No. HCL/68M/2024) involving him and the anti-graft agency.

He emphasized that the court mandate explicitly prohibited the EFCC and its representatives from engaging in any form of harassment, arrest, detention, or prosecution against him until a verdict is reached in the fundamental rights enforcement case.
