Warning from Expert: Avoid Direct Sunlight While Working During Heat Wave

Dr. Shehu Sambo, a medical expert and director of the Primary Healthcare Development Agency (PHCDA) in Jigawa State, has cautioned against working directly under the scorching sun.

This cautionary advice was shared in a statement on his Facebook page, where he highlighted the health risks associated with the current intense heat affecting certain northern regions.

Describing the situation as an unprecedented heat wave in Northern Nigeria, Dr. Sambo emphasized the potential health hazards such as heat stroke, severe dehydration, and kidney stone issues.

He also noted that the extreme heat could increase susceptibility to infections like meningitis and various other health concerns.

To mitigate these risks, Dr. Sambo recommended staying hydrated by consuming plenty of water and fluids, as well as ensuring rest in well-ventilated spaces.
