Chelsea considering Serie A coach as potential successor to Pochettino

Reports suggest that Chelsea has made contact with Thiago Motta as a possible replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.

While Juventus has long been linked with the Bologna coach, Chelsea has now emerged as another interested party.

Currently, with Bologna sitting in fourth place in Serie A, Motta has exceeded expectations by steering the team toward Champions League qualification next season.

A former midfielder for Barcelona, Motta had a successful 17-year career playing for top clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

Despite alleged advanced discussions with Juventus, Chelsea could present an appealing alternative for the 41-year-old coach.

Journalist Eleonora Trotta from Calcio Mercato mentioned that Juventus has been engaging with Motta for months, but Chelsea has recently entered the scene as a potential suitor.

She conveyed on X: “Recent interest from Chelsea has surfaced regarding Thiago Motta potentially joining Juventus. He has been in agreement with Juventus for a new chapter for some time.”
