Statement from APC Spokesperson Wusono: No Plans to Suspend El-Rufai

In Kaduna State, the All Progressive Congress, APC, has clarified that there are no intentions to suspend former governor Nasir El-Rufai.

Despite rumors of potential suspension for alleged anti-party activities, Salisu Wusono, the spokesperson for the APC in Kaduna, stated on Tuesday that no such actions are being considered, reiterating, “There is no plan for this.”

El-Rufai’s recent visits to the headquarters of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Abuja, as well as his interactions with Abdul Ningi, the suspended Senator who raised concerns about the 2024 budget being inflated by N3 trillion, have sparked discussions on social media.

While some speculate about El-Rufai’s possible political strategies, Shehu Gabam, the national chair of the SDP, dismissed any political implications of the visits, citing a longstanding relationship with El-Rufai that predates 1999.

According to Gabam, visits from politicians across different parties are not uncommon, pointing out a past visit from Al Mustapha that also led to speculations about party affiliations.

Emphasizing El-Rufai’s pivotal role in the formation of the APC before the 2015 elections, Gabam highlighted the diverse interactions between political figures from various parties.
