Freedom at Last for Abducted Wife and Housemaid of Ortom’s Former Aide

Recent reports confirm that the wife and housemaid of the ex-Chief of Staff to the former governor of Benue State, Abigail Orbunde and Patience Ogute, have been freed from the clutches of kidnappers.

Argezua, a trusted associate of the former aide, shared that after an undisclosed ransom payment, the women were released on Tuesday, following a demand for N100 million by their abductors.

Having endured four distressing days in captivity, they have finally been reunited with some family members and promptly taken to the hospital for immediate medical attention. This marks the end of their ordeal.

The abduction took place last Friday around 6 pm while the women were on the farm with Terwase Orbunde, the former aide. Orbunde was left behind by the abductors after sustaining a gunshot wound to his right arm, while his wife and maid were taken away.

Mrs. Orbunde expressed her gratitude to God for their rescue, noting the hardships they faced while trekking long distances in the bush without sustenance. Her husband, currently undergoing treatment for his injuries, also conveyed his thanks to God and all the supporters who offered prayers and financial assistance leading to their release.
