Controversy Surrounding Cubana Chief Priest as He Appears in Court

During a recent court appearance at the Federal High Court in Lagos, the well-known businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, who goes by the alias Cubana Chief Priest, is facing charges related to the misuse of the Nigerian currency.

Justice Kehinde Ogundare is presiding over the arraignment, where Cubana Chief Priest has taken his place inside the dock. The charges against him include accusations of mishandling the naira by spraying and interfering with the country’s legal tender at a social gathering, contravening the provisions outlined in the Central Bank Act of 2007.

It is alleged that the incident took place on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, where Cubana Chief Priest was reportedly seen spraying the Naira while participating in a dance routine.

Authorities claim that he tampered with a significant amount of N500 notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria, spending approximately two hours engaging in the activity.
