Chijioke Mbaoma, Enyimba’s top scorer, is being backed by head coach Finidi George to regain his form after a recent dry spell in front of goal.
Despite missing several scoring opportunities in a recent match against Heartland, Mbaoma has only scored once in Enyimba’s last six Nigeria Premier Football League games.
Throughout the season, Mbaoma has netted a total of 13 goals for the NPFL champions.
Finidi expressed his continued support for Mbaoma, stating, “We will continue to encourage him as he is currently the joint-top scorer in the league with 13 goals.”
He added, “We will monitor his performance in the remaining league matches and provide the necessary assistance to ensure he finishes strong.”
Emphasizing the importance of backing the player, Finidi said, “Now is not the time to criticize any player. Our focus is on supporting Mbaoma and preparing him for the upcoming matches.”
Looking ahead, Enyimba is set to face Sunshine Stars this weekend in Akure.
