Elon Musk warns that X accounts involved in engagement farming could face suspension

Cautioning that any account found engaged in engagement farming on the social media platform may risk suspension, Elon Musk, the Chief Executive Officer of X (formerly Twitter), has issued a warning.

Engagement farming involves practices aimed at increasing interaction metrics on social media without adding any tangible value.

Musk delivered this message via a tweet on his X handle last Friday.

In his tweet, he stated, “Any accounts involved in engagement farming will be suspended and their origin traced.”

Back in March, PUNCH Online reported Musk’s consideration of removing visible engagement metrics like likes and reposts from X platform posts.

Additionally, in July 2023, he implemented temporary restrictions on the social media platform to address the severe levels of data scraping and system manipulation.
