Federal Capital Territory Police Confirm Receipt of N20 Million Bounty Set by Wike for Wanted Kidnappers

The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, has announced that the command has now received the N20 million bounty that was placed on two notorious kidnappers by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

This disclosure was made in a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh.

Expressing gratitude, Adeh stated that the commissioner conveyed his thanks on behalf of the FCT Police Command for the generous gesture from Minister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

By way of background, Wike had placed a N20 million bounty on the heads of two wanted kidnappers on February 14, 2024, and these criminals have now been apprehended by the FCT command.

The CP emphasized that such actions underscored the minister’s commitment to leading and ensuring the security and welfare of residents.

“The Command is deeply appreciative of his unwavering and consistent support in the fight against crime and in safeguarding the well-being of residents,” the CP reiterated.

The commissioner confirmed that the allocated funds were disbursed among the tactical teams and divisional police officers to enhance service delivery.
