Call for Party Progression: Iyorchia Ayu Urges PDP to Elect New Chairman – Tambuwal

In anticipation of the impending Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) gathering today, Senator Aminu Tambuwal from Sokoto South stated that the party’s former National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, is eager for PDP to advance.

Tambuwal emphasized that Ayu’s decision to drop his lawsuit contesting his removal as PDP National Chairman indicates his desire for the party to progress.

Encouraging all PDP members to prioritize the party’s interests during the 98th NEC meeting held in Abuja.

In a post on X, Tambuwal expressed: “Ahead of the 98th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2024, the National Caucus of our esteemed Party, the @OfficialPDPNig, convened and engaged in discussions.

“I commend our former National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, for retracting his lawsuit challenging his removal from office, thereby enabling the party to move forward and select a substantive national chairman.

“Dr. Ayu’s gesture showcased his statesmanship and dedication to the party’s welfare as it undergoes vital restructuring in the effort to rescue Nigeria from its current predicament.

“As we approach today’s NEC meeting, I urge all our party stakeholders to prioritize the party’s interests above all others.

“This is a pivotal moment for our party, and the eyes of Nigerians are upon us. It is a chance to put our affairs in order. Let’s not squander it. -AWT”
